This year we had Josh's birthday party outdoors in our neighbourhood park on a beautiful, sunny fall afternoon.
We started the afternoon with some games.

Then a pinata. (With a fair bit of pinata drama...)
And concluded the afternoon with cupcakes!
We're thankful for so many fantastic friends from church, from school and from the neighbourhood to celebrate with.
A few days after his party, his actual birth day arrived and we celebrated his birthday morning with presents, cards from long-distance family, and special pancakes.
He also got his first bike from Grandpa and Gigi which was incredibly exciting for him!
Hope it was a great 4th birthday, little man!
